Description | Borba - Red Wine
Borba - Red Wine, from the Borba Cooperative Winery, is an Alentejo wine made from the Aragonez, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet grape varieties. The grapes are harvested in September from the best plots and then undergo destemming, crushing, and alcoholic fermentation, with a maceration period of between 6 and 10 days at a controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for between 6 and 12 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
In the glass, it presents a ruby color with violet reflections and good aromatic intensity, marked by notes of red plum. On the palate, it reveals itself to be balanced, with appealing freshness and a persistent finish, where hints of bittersweet fruit emerge. It is a versatile red wine, with the fruity and harmonious profile characteristic of the region, suitable for those who appreciate accessible and characterful Alentejo wines.
