Description | Vila Santa Reserve - Red Wine
Vila Santa Reserva - Red Wine, by João Portugal Ramos, is an Alentejo wine made from the Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties. This blend combines Portuguese and international varieties, resulting in an intense, structured and very expressive profile, true to the warm and generous character of the region.
According to available information, some of the grapes are harvested manually in small 15 kg boxes. During winemaking, part of the harvest is foot-trodden in marble lagares (traditional stone troughs), while the remainder ferments in temperature-controlled wooden vats, followed by a long maceration. Aging takes place for 9 months in American and French oak barrels, contributing to the complexity and balance of the whole.
In the glass, it presents an intense garnet color and aromas of very ripe black fruits, enveloped by spicy notes from the wood. On the palate, it reveals itself as elegant and full-bodied, with smooth tannins and a full, powerful presence. An Alentejo red wine of great personality, ideal for those seeking intensity, structure, and aromatic depth.
