Covela Reserve - Red Wine

Covela Reserva - Red Wine is a wine from Quinta de Covela, in the Vinho Verde region, which reveals a distinct and ambitious expression of the local terroir. Produced from Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot Noir, it results from careful winemaking, with manual harvesting plot by plot, cold maceration of the Touriga Nacional grapes and fermentation accompanied by gentle daily manual punctures. After fermentation, it ages for 19 months in 300-liter French oak barrels, gaining depth, structure and complexity.

In the glass, it presents a deep and intense ruby color. The aroma is complex and captivating, with a predominance of ripe black fruit, such as blackberry and cassis, accompanied by spicy notes of clove and black pepper. On the palate, it is smooth from the first contact, with silky tannins and a natural freshness that contributes to an elegant and balanced whole. Without stabilization or filtration, it may form sediment in the bottle, a common characteristic of wines made with minimal intervention.
